My business partner, Marianne, and I met during a Music Together class with our 2 year old daughters and within a year we were developing Teres Kids together. We wanted to help kids be happy and comfortable so they could play. While creating our Spring 2010 line we spoke with hundreds of parents and we were shocked to learn how many kids suffered while getting dressed. Dressing a child became the biggest obstacle of the day for some families.

I contacted my friend Lindsey Biel, a prominent therapist specializing sensory integration issues and the author of Sensory Smarts www.sensorysmarts.com. Lindsey talked to us about “tactile sensitivity” and “tactile defensiveness,” and the varying degrees to which kids can be affected by tactile sensitivities. Based on what we learn from parents like Meg and experts like Lindsey, we design our clothes to offer optimal comfort for all children.

We are excited about our Spring 2010 line and we’re inspired to continue revolutionizing comfort in children’s clothing.
